What you are agreeing to when you buy a print.
Who you are dealing with
Patchwork Atlas sells printed maps online. Buying from us means accepting what is on this page, so it is written to be read rather than skimmed past.
What these maps are
They are decorative prints. Every map is drawn to be recognisable and correct enough to hang on a wall and find your own county on, and it is not a survey document. Do not use one to settle a boundary, plan a route, or answer any question where being a few hundred meters out would matter.
Administrative boundaries also change. A map shows them as they were when it was drawn, and we do not undertake to redraw a print when a line moves.
Placing an order
The shop cannot take an order yet. When it can, an order is an offer to buy and we accept it by making the print. If we cannot make it, we will say so and refund you in full rather than send something else.
Prices
Prices are shown in United States dollars and may change. The price you pay is the one shown when you order, and it will not change afterwards.
Sizes and palettes
Each map is offered in the print shape closest to the artwork itself, so a wide state is a wide print and a squarer one is squarer. That means the size list is not identical from map to map, and the sizes shown on a map's own page are the ones it comes in.
Every map is offered in fifteen palettes. Color is shown on screen, and screens vary, so a print will be close to what you saw rather than an exact match to your monitor.
Delivery
Delivery times are estimates, not promises, and they depend on the destination. We are responsible for getting the print made and handed over correctly. Once it is with the carrier, their timescales apply.
If something goes wrong
A change of mind is handled the way the returns page sets out, and is not the same thing as a fault. Read that page before ordering if it matters to you: it is the one that says what can be cancelled and when.
A print that arrives damaged, faulty or not what you ordered is replaced or refunded. See the returns page for how, and tell us within thirty days of it arriving.
Our designs
The artwork is licensed for us to sell as printed goods. Buying a print buys the print. It does not transfer any right to reproduce, resell or redistribute the artwork itself, in any form.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for the print being what we described and arriving in good order. We are not responsible for losses beyond the value of the order, and nothing here limits any right the law gives you that cannot be limited.
Changes
These terms can change. The version that applies to an order is the one published when the order was placed.
Governing law
New Zealand law governs these terms. That does not deprive you of the protection of consumer law in your own country.
